Despite the fact that the photograph was taken just five days prior to closure the station still looks cared for albeit the flower beds haven't been replanted. The lampposts are still oil lit as they were from new whilst the distinctive standard Midland Railway sloping slatted fencing is also in very good condition. The light coloured brickwork on the station building's gable end shows where the large Midland Railway poster display board was once located.
