Ex-LMS 4MT 2-6-0 Mogul No 43013 stands at the head of an Ashchurch to Birmingham train

Ex-LMS 4MT 2-6-0 Mogul 'Flying Pig' or 'Doodle Bug' No 43013 stands at the head of an Ashchurch to Birmingham local passenger train not long before the station closed. Designed by Ivatt during his very short tenure as CME after the death of Fairburn who had been Sir William Stanier's successor, No 43013 was built at Horwich works in April 1947 and remained in service for only eighteen years before being withdrawn from Heaton Mersey (CLC) shed in October 1965 for scrapping by TW Ward Ltd of Killamarsh.
