Ex-LMS 4MT 2-6-0 Mogul No 43013 stands at the head of an Ashchurch to Birmingham train

Ex-LMS 4MT 2-6-0 Mogul 'Flying Pig' or 'Doodle Bug' No 43013 stands at the head of an Ashchurch to Birmingham local passenger train not long before the station closed. Number 43013 was designed by Ivatt during his very short tenure as CME after the death of Fairburn, Stanier's successor. Built at Horwich works in April 1947 it remained in service for only eighteen years before being withdrawn from Heaton Mersey (CLC) shed in October 1965 for scrapping by TW Ward Ltd of Killamarsh in January 1966.
