This photograph of ex-MR 0-6-0 4F No 43926 was taken from
Camp Hill Signal Box, just north of the station itself. The tall building
behind the plume of smoke was the warehouse and grain store part of the Camp
Hill Goods yard complex. The steeple to the right of centre indicates the
position of King Edward's Camp Hill School. 15th June 1955
Number 43926, officially a MR class 3835, was built by the
Midland Railway at Derby works circa 1920 and lasted in service for another
five years being withdrawn from Barrow Road shed in Bristol during August 1959
. It was stored at Chaddesden Sidings for one year, August 1959 to August 1960
before being scrapped by A Loom of Spondon in October 1960.
