LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton

Castle Bromwich Station: mrcb40

Ex-MR 2P 4-4-0 No 531 passes through the station on an up express service on 3rd June 1925. This locomotive was also carrying a No 2 shed plate. Built in October 1898 at Derby works as a member of the MR's 483 class, No 531 remained in service until September 1956 when it was withdrawn from Ryecroft shed in Walsall. In the background standing on one of the two refuge sidings are a rake of Private Owner wagons.
