Looking towards Camp Hill with the main station building on the up (left) platform. The station was built on an embankment and,as was the policy with most railway companies in the UK, the MR built their station using timber. This material was obviously significantly lighter than brick or stone and consequently would not require deep and expensive foundations. C1908
