An early twentieth century view of the station looking across the down Gloucester platform and across to the down Redditch platform. The line on the left is the refuge siding a facility designed to allow goods trains to be cleared for passing passenger services. According to the track layouts of the 1880s reproduced in Bob Essery's book a turntable existed between the two platforms. A later layout drawing of the 1894 modifications showing the doubled Redditch line for the first 350 yards and two platforms also shows the turntable now removed.
