LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

An Edwardian view of the station taken from the Bristol to Birmingham's up platform looking south as a southbound train departs the down platform. The junction with the Redditch branch was originally single line opening to passenger traffic on 19th September with goods traffic commencing 1st October 1859. The Redditch branch was doubled for the first 350 yards and both the footbridge and Redditch down platform were added at the same time. The absence of the goods lines on the Barnt Green to Birmingham, which were built in the 1930s, meant only one home signal was required from the branch.
