Looking towards Water Orton with ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 44180 running tender first on an up goods service. Bob Pixton in his book "Birmingham-Derby Portrait of a Famous Route" states that there was a fuel storage depot for the Esso Petroleum Company in adjacent sidings. Apparently several heavy tanker trains arrived each day from various places including Avonmouth Docks and Fawley Refinery, Southampton primarily behind Riddles Standard class 9F 2-10-0 locomotives.
