LMS Route: Birmingham West Suburban Railway

Ex-MR 3P 0-6-4T No 2037 is seen in the roundhouse at Bournville on Saturday 15th June 1935. Five of these engines were photographed on this date, inside and outside the shed, all apparently out of use. The probable reason is given with image 'mrb5'. The Midland Railway had built No 2037 at Derby in September 1907. The LMS had rebuilt it in 1926, reclassified it as 3P in 1928, then officially withdrew it from service in March 1936, less than a year after this photo was taken.
