This view taken from a passing train shows the throat of the yard from the south of the shed. The line to the left led to the two long sidings used to store locomotives although in this view the head shunt was pressed into action. To the very right can be seen the signal box which controlled the section to the south of the station including access to the shed. 1st June 1957
