LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

BR built but to an LMS 4MT Ivatt 2-6-0 design, No 43047
approaches Alvechurch station on the 5.10pm Birmingham New Street to Ashchurch
on 23rd April 1960 during the last weekend of scheduled steam working. Number
43047 was one of a number of Ivatt designed moguls built at Horwich Works in
November 1949 and lasted in service less than twenty years being withdrawn from
Workington shed in December 1967 to be scrapped by Arnott & Young of
Carmyle in March 1968.
