LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Looking from the junction of the Midland Railway's Evesham to Birmingham line showing the head shunt on the right used by GWR locomotives to access the engine shed. The head shunt was not protected by a buffer stop just a pile of earth indicating the branch line's low status. The piece of equipment covering the left hand rail is thought to be a semi-permanent safety feature to prevent locomotives from passing beyond the signal.
