LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Ex-LMS Ivatt 4MT Mogul No 43036 running tender first on an Evesham to Birmingham local passenger train. Bob Essery writes in his book on the line 'During the final years of the branch the Ivatt Moguls, introduced just before nationalisation, were in regular use on the line'. Number 43036 was in fact built in June 1948 at Horwich works, so should really be described as 'BR built', and only lasted eighteen years in service before being withdrawn from Workington shed in May 1966 to be scrapped by Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Co at Inshaw Works in October 1966.
