LMS Fowler 2-6-2T No 3 crosses the Princess Drive Viaduct on
a Coventry bound local in November 1938. Number 3 was built in 1930 at Derby
works and was a member of a class that had a reputation for its poor steaming
raising abilities. Number 3 was later given the running number 40003 by BR and
lasted in service until February 1961 when it was withdrawn from Widnes shed
although it was in store at Rugby from October 1958.
