Ex-LNWR 1P 2-4-2T No 6683, still in LMS livery, stands at
the head of local Leamington to Nuneaton passenger train. June 1951
Number 6683 was built in July 1893 at Crewe. It would have
worn its BR running number 46683 for a very short time as it was withdrawn from
Warwick shed in February 1953 and scrapped at Crewe in March 1953.
Reg Kimber writes, 'My favourite Webb 2-4-2T was No 6669
which I cabbed when it was in the Coventry parcels bay just before scrapping.
It had a wobbly chimney which had rusted so much you could see through it in
places.
