Warwick (Milverton) Station: lnwrwar_stn1412
Ex-LNWR 0-6-0 No 8556 on a short mineral train, probably a
pick-up goods working, made up of PO wagons enters the confines of the station.
Number 8556 was a member of the Cauliflower class, so called because when the
LNWR crest was first applied to its centre splasher it looked like a
cauliflower, and was built in November 1900 at Crewe. C1937
It was later placed into the LMS reserve list by the
addition of the 20000 to its number giving it the new running number 28556.
This was to make way for Stanier's new 8F which were placed in the 8000 series.
Number 28556 was withdrawn from Bushbury shed in October 1948 and never
received its allocated BR running number 58414.
