LMS stations and trains

BR built, but to an LMS Ivatt design, 2MT No 46446 is seen heading a local Nuneaton to Leamington passenger train in June 1951. Reg Kimber writes, 'No 46446 and sister engine No 46445 were probably the only new locos ever to come to Coventry shed. Even then the records showed one of them first allocated briefly to 5A. There was great excitement amongst the rail fraternity at school when they arrived'.

Number 46446 was built at Crewe in March 1949 and consequently never carried an LMS number. It lasted in service until December 1966 when it was withdrawn from Shrewsbury shed being scrapped by J Cashmore of Newport in September 1967.
