This close up of the rebuilt station shows the supporting steel beams appear to have been reused to support a new brick structure. The stairs appear to have received a new small canopy at the top replacing the original roof that covered all of the staircase despite the latter surviving the fire.

Both of the island platforms have received new structures too with the the right hand platform's offering toilet facilities in addition to the waiting room whilst the left hand platform's appears to only offer a waiting room. BR maroon corporate signs are in evidence on both structures. The rebuilding of the left hand platform building is somewhat surprising given evidence that it was not being used in the 1955 views.
