LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Lichfield

Another post-1968 photograph which will be replaced when earlier views are to hand. Looking towards Lichfield and the up platform and its structures. Its not known if the up platform was served by stairs or a ramp. The photograph just about shows part of a covered staircase/ramp at the far end. The angle and the type of platform buildings indicate it was probably stairs because the exit to the platform was very near to the far end. Should luggage or parcels need to be transferred to the up platform then this could be achieved via the ramp to the down platform and then by barrow crossing to the up platform.
