This was one of several engines photographed providing locomotive power on the last day of passenger services. Built at Crewe works in July 1901 No 6924 was active in the area for some fifteen years being withdrawn from Monument Lane in November 1949.

This close up shows ex-LNWR 2P 0-6-2 Watford Tank No 6924, with steam shooting out of its safety valves, stands under the footbridge waiting for the right of way on the last day of passenger services 24th Nov 1934. Number 6924 was built by Crewe works in July 1901 and was still in the area some fifteen years later when withdrawn from Monument Lane shed in November 1949 to be scrapped shortly afterwards.
