Ex-LNWR Prince of Wales class 4-6-0 No 5653 'The Nile' stands over the inspection pits in front of No 1 shed with the Signal Plant Workshop in the background on 14th February 1932. Number 5653 was built as LNWR No 1352 at Crewe works in January 1916, renumbered by the LMS in May 1927 and remained in service until October 1935 when it was withdrawn for scrapping at Crewe works.
