Ex-LMS 7F 0-8-0 Austin 7 No 49509 stands in store with many other ex-LMS locomotives alongside the Signal Depot. Built as LMS No 9509 at Crewe works in May 1929 it lasted exactly thirty years in service being officially withdrawn in May 1959 from Agecroft shed in Manchester but was not scrapped until December 1961 by the Central Wagon Company of Ince near Wigan.
