LMS 5MT 4-6-0 'Stanier Black 5' No 5073 stands above the
pits on one of the approach road to the shed on 3rd Nov 1946. Number 5073 was
built at Crewe works in June 1935 and remained in service until the last month
of steam operations on BR being withdrawn in August 1968 from Lostock Hall shed
to be scrapped in March 1969 by Drapers Ltd of Hull.
