Ex-LNWR 5XP 4-6-0 Claughton class No 5947 having just taken on water is now ready to move forward to be turned on 16th December 1933. Number 5947 was built as LNWR No 2431 at Crewe works in June 1917 and after being given the LMS running number 5947 in March 1924 remained in service until February 1935 when it was withdrawn for scrapping at Crewe works.
