Close up of image 'lnwrrm881' showing an oil wagon being fly shunted past the 'parachute' water column with the locomotive now paused by the offices and mess huts of the yard staff. The oil tank wagon appears to be a Royal Daylight tank wagon. The building centre left appears to be either accommodating two room, each with its own door in the respective gable, or its one through room. Various barrels and other material lie on the ground next to the buffer stop whilst a tall gas lamppost stands between the two huts behind a very dirty LNWR square signal post. The long timber building behind the solitary 'Cannock Chase' coal wagon was at one time owned by Hunters for repairing 'crippled' wagons. The 1939 Ordnance Survey map shows this structure as being the 'Old Wagon Works', implying its no longer being used for this purpose.
