Close up of the junction with the three LNWR lines to the north of the station. The frequency of of both goods and passenger services meant that the junction was a bottleneck and cause of delays. The concrete fly-over was built at a time the number of services declined although today's high speed trains benefit from not having to cross over trackwork.
