View of the scissors crossing taken from Rugby No 3 Signal Box and looking towards Stafford. This view shows the scissors crossover that allowed two trains to be held at both the main up and down platforms independently of each other. This resulted in Rugby having one of the longest platforms in the UK. The planking is protecting passengers whilst the glass roof is being restored ahead of electrification. The through line that ran parallel to the platform line has been lifted at this point but can be seen to the right of the train. March 1961
