LMS 4-4-0 Compound No 1107 pilots an unidentified ex-LNWR 4-6-0 Claughton on a down express arriving at the station circa 1928. Number 1107 was built at Derby in November 1925 and remained in service for exactly thirty years being withdrawn in October 1955 from Green Ayre shed in Lancaster to be scrapped the following month at Derby works.
