LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 5713 'Renown' on a down express passes through the station via the avoiding lines in June 1939. Number 5713 was built at Crewe works in July 1936 and remained in service until October 1962 when it was withdrawn from Bank Hall to be scrapped in June 1963 at Cowlairs works.
