The corrugated building would be a platelayers hut storing tools and parts for maintaining and repairing the extensive trackwork at the station. The timber bunker to its left is built using old railway sleepers most probably contained sand to used to put on the tracks in wet or icy weather in order to assist locomotives when starting away.
