Pioneer mainline diesels ex-LMS Co-Co No 10000 and 10001 are seen at the head of the up 'Royal Scot' express during the early 1950s. The Co-Co reference was to describe the number of axles on each bogie and as the letter C was third in the alphabet and the bogie had three axles this was the letter reference.
