Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45601 'British Guiana' wearing
the legend 'British Railways' on its tender on a down express. Number 45601 was
built by the North British Locomotive Co to order 24159 in April 1935 and
lasted in service until September 1964 when withdrawn from Newton Heath shed
for scrapping in June 1965 by the Central Wagon Co of Ince near Wigan.
