Ex-LMS 4-6-0 6P Converted Scot' No 46132 'The Kings Regiment' is seen about to pass under the former GC bridge whilst at the head of an up express service. Yet to receive its smoke deflectors No 46132 was originally built by the North British Locomotive Company in September 1927 as LMS No 6132 'Phoenix' but acquired the name 'The Kings Regiment' shortly afterwards. As with all of the Royal Scot class when their boilers became life expired they were converted with a new Stanier 2A boiler and received significant improvements to the cylinders and chassis. Converted in October 1944 No 46132 remained in service until October 1962 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped.
