Close up of image 'lnwr1067' showing the configuration of the train shed which had two ridged roofs at either end and two bow roofs in the centre. The bow roof portion of the train shed covered the middle portion of the station where the scissor crossovers were located. The two ridged sections of the train shed at either end of the station covered both the main up or down platforms, together with siding, as well as the bay platforms. At the southern end of the station there were only two bay platforms, with two sidings in between. They served the Northampton and Market Harborough branches. On the right is part of the former Midland Railway structure now used by carriage repairs and signal departments.
