LMS 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 6117 'Welsh Guardsman' still in original condition is seen passing in front of the turntable on 11th July 1931. Number 6117 was built by the North British Locomotive Company to order 23612 in November 1927 and remained in service for exactly 35 years being withdrawn in November 1962 from Holbeck shed to be scrapped in December 1963 at Crewe works.
