Close up showing the process of coaling with the water spray on to minimise the amount of dust

Close up of image 'lnwrrm1048' showing the process of coaling with the water spray on to minimise the amount of dust. The coal was moved forward inside the metal ducting by either gravity or through the use of 'jiggers' which nudged the coal forward in manageable amounts. The cabin on the right was where one-man could operate all of the equipment for one set of the two bunkers. Another cabin, on the left and behind the locomotive, controlled the second set of bunkers. The 'jiggers were operated by a long handled lever set in the floor (similar to a signal or points lever) and was pulled and pushed to agitate the coal.
