View of the sub-shed with passenger locomotives on the left, freight in the centre and passenger tank locomotives on the right of the photograph circa 1930s. The LNWR built the first shed in 1876 and within ten years it was recorded that two large straight sheds, identical in size and appearance, had been erected to the north side of the station. Both had a northlight pattern style roof with the usual type of LNWR coal stage with water tank above.
