LMS 2-8-0 8F No 8557 stands on shed alongside the main running line with the signals controlling access to the southern approaches to Nuneaton station seen behind circa 1947. Built by the LNER at their Darlington Plant in July 1945 No 8557 remained in service until July 1967 when it was withdrawn from Newton Heath shed in Manchester to be scrapped in November 1967 by Drapers Ltd of Hull.
