Ex-LMS Stanier 2-8-0 8F No 48387 is being prepared for
another day's work. In the back ground appears to be an unidentied Stanier
2-6-0 "Crab" so called as these were the Stanier's development of the hugely
successful Hughes 2-6-0 "Crab"
(The nickname derived from the position of the relatively
low pressure cylinders requiring these to be raised above normal footplate
level. The movement of the connecting rods etc were said to resemble the
actions of a crab). C1964-5
