LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

British Railways Standard class 4MT No 76033 is seen marshalling stock in the carriage sidings ready to move to Nuneaton station in the late 50s. Built at Horwich works in December 1952, No 76033 was essentially an updated version of the Ivatt LMS 4MT design with the most prominent difference being the tall sloping running plate in front of the cylinders. Like all British Railway built locomotives the 1956 modernisation programme resulted in their having very short working lives with No 760033 being withdrawn in March 1966 from Motherwell shed to be scrapped in June 1966 by the Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Company of Inshaw works.
