Monument Lane's crane is seen with a spreader beam removing
a roof truss. The use of a spreader beam was to prevent the distortion of long
units as the chains or ropes holding the roof truss are vertical not angled as
otherwise would be the case. The lack of supporting jacks to stabilise the
crane would indicate the load was very light although in today's Health &
Safety culture it is doubtful this would be allowed.
