LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton
Lea Hall: lnwrlh1068
View of the station just after completion. Although planned
prior to the Second World War it had a strategic purpose in transporting
passengers to nearby factories. The use of concrete in its construction, in
lieu of normal building materials, reflected the shortage of materials and
skilled labour. Concrete was both an easy material to work with and its
construction used less skilled labour than otherwise would be the case.
