Leamington (Avenue) Station - Locomotives: lnwrlave1379

Ex-LNWR 7F 0-8-0 G2a class No 8922 is seen shunting coaching stock at Leamington Avenue station's platform one circa 1938. These locomotives were primarily seen on heavy mineral trains in particular hauling coal trains from the North Warwickshire coal fields. Built at Crewe works in April 1902 No 8922 remained in service until May 1959 when it was withdrawn from Crewe South shed to be scrapped in June 1959 by Crewe works.
