Ex-LNWR 1P 2-4-2T Precursor Tank No 6683 on a push pull
train for Daventry and Weedon during the summer of 1947. The general run down
condition of the locomotive is evident through the burnt smokebox door and
white staining on the boiler's cladding.
Despite looking in a worse condition and being older than No
46749 it survived longer in service. Number 6683 was built at Crewe in July
1893 and was withdrawn from Warwick in February 1953 to be scrapped at Crewe
the following month.
