LMS 2-6-0 'Crab' No 2781, with the engine looking much cleaner than the tender, is seen at the head of a local passenger service heading towards Warwick Milverton in 1938. Number 2781 was built at Crewe in September 1927 and as BR No 42781 was withdrawn from service in November 1962 from Chester (Midland) shed before being scrapped in January 1963 at Horwich.
