View of Kenilworth station looking towards Coventry along the up platform showing that only the down platform canopy had its glazing removed. The removal of the glass on the grounds of safety during the Second World War did not just apply to the canopy at the front of the station. In this photograph we can see the glass to the down platform's canopy has also been removed and replaced with what appears to be asbestos corrugated sheeting with glazed panels to provide some natural light. The reason for the signal box being built with a high elevation is clearly apparent in this view as the signalman will have a clear view above the station structure and foot bridge of both the yard and the track to the South of the station.
