London Midland Scottish Railway Route: Nuneaton to
Leamington
Kenilworth Station: lnwrk155
Ex-LNWR 0-6-0 Cauliflower No 8519 and No 8430 having just
left Kenilworth Station with a Coventry bound local train. Note from this view
looking towards Leamington with Kenilworth Station in the distance, the two
tracks on the right acted as the head shunt for the goods yard as well as the
refuge loop line for East/North bound traffic. C1938
Number 8519 was built at Crewe in February 1900 with an
unknown date of withdrawal. Number 8430 was built at Crewe in May 1902 lasting
just over 50 years in service being withdrawn in February 1953 from Crewe South
shed (where it was probably dumped rather than being in service prior to
official withdrawal) and scrapped at Crewe shortly afterwards.
