This close up of image 'lnwrk152' shows ex-LNWR 2-4-2T No 6653 in the centre of the train. This configuration would not have been too popular with the crew, particular the fireman as they would have been working separately for most of the day.

The classic motor train configuration of the locomotive at the end of a two-coach train would have meant the crew would have been working together for at least half of the trips worked. Number 6653 was built at Crewe in June 1893 and lasted in service until May 1947 when it was withdrawn from service.
