LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Harborne

Ex-LNWR 2P 0-6-2T Watford-Tank No 6927 (a Monument Lane
engine) works a Harborne bound frieght service. Due to the severe climbs of
1:66 on leaving the mainline to Icknield Port Road and onwards to Rotton Park
Road most trains worked boiler first as seen in the photograph above. C1930s .
Number 6927 was built by Crewe works in June 1902 and remained in service until
withdrawn from Monument Lane shed in April 1947 to be scrapped at Crewe works
in November 1947.
