This close up of image "lnwrhia689" shows how compact the
original 1884 Hampton in Arden station was compared to the version rebuilt at
the time of electrification of the line. Again through the far bridge the
signal box controlling the original MR "Derby Junction" station can be seen
with what appears to be a plume of steam from a locomotive standing in the
sidings opposite. C1957
